A 44-year-old man has appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court charged with murder following the death of 38-year-old Brian Knock in Bildeston on Sunday morning.

Barry Estabrook, 44, of Brooks View, Bildeston, was arrested soon after the incident and taken into custody at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Estabrook, who spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address, will appear before Ipswich Crown tomorrow morning.

Mr Knock was formally identified yesterday afternoon.

He had been staying at an address in Brooksfield, Bildeston.

He was found in the garden of the property just after 4am on Sunday morning and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination confirmed that he died from multiple stab wounds.
