Man breaks neck in car collision in Sudbury

A 49-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a broken neck in a collision with a 4x4 vehicle in Sudbury yesterday morning (Thursday).

Officers were alerted around 8.50am to reports a man had been in collision with 4X4 vehicle – a Landrover Discovery - and was trapped underneath.

The 49-year-old man, from Bildeston, was freed by the fire service and taken to hospital by air ambulance.

He remains in critical condition at Addenbrooke’s Hospital after sustaining a broken neck and other serious injuries.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident and are asking anyone who can help to call PC Joseph Skippen at Bury St Edmunds Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting CAD 47.
