A family has walked 17 miles, from Sudbury to Bury St Edmunds, to support Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Paula Bevan, from Cedar Walk, Acton, organised the walk on Monday in honour of her father, Colin Banbridge, who died last year following a heart attack. The 62-year-old, who lived in Raleigh Close, Sudbury, had been cared for at the London hospital during his childhood.
Joined by her mother Jan, brother Nick, and daughter Amani, along with other friends and family, the group raised £1,600 from the epic walk.
“It was a fantastic day and we raised lots of money – much more than I ever imagined,” said Mrs Beavan, 37.
The group stopped at the Rushbrooke Arms in Sicklesmere and the Macebearer pub in Bury St Edmunds, both of which laid on food. “They were incredibly generous,” added Mrs Beavan.
