Sudbury mayor Jack Owen, Lord Phillips of Sudbury and South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge all paid tribute to Sudbury charity the Kernos Centre after attending its recent AGM.

Centre chairman Graham Hill welcomed 30 attendees to the charity’s 12th AGM at the Christopher Centre in Sudbury on January 22.

Mr Owen has this year chosen the centre as one of his supported charities, raising funds throughout his time in office.

Babergh District Council, Suffolk County Council through Suffolk Community Foundation and Sudbury Town Council were among those thanked for their donations and grants which had enabled Kernos to support in excess of 2,445 clients since opening in March 2003.

Lord Phillips stood to thank the Kernos Centre for the “amazing work” done for Sudbury and surrounding villages.

Mr Cartlidge and Mr Owen also praised the charity’s service to the area.
