bus users are facing a mile-and-a-half walk home because the service to their village has been stopped.
Passengers heading to Alpheton on the 4.10pm 375 bus from Bury St Edmunds are now being dropped off in the neighbouring village of Bridge Street, after Suffolk County Council altered the route.
Ben Ramsey, 16, uses the bus to get home from King Edward VI School. He said: “Anyone who can’t drive in the village is relying on lifts, or they can’t get back to Alpheton later in the afternoon.
“It might as well stop where it used to. I can’t see how much difference it makes.”
Ben added people who go into Bury to do their shopping now can’t get back.
A council spokeswoman confirmed that the 375 bus service had stopped going to Alpheton and said changes had been made from April 4. She added that more information was available at www.suffolkonboard.com.
