Long Melford mums keep up the pace

THREE mums from Long Melford have set their sights on raising £5,000 for three charities next year by securing places in the London marathon.

Friends Karen Austin, Karen Bedwell and Penny Hurrell have just completed their first half-marathon and are now in serious training for the big event in April.

“We know we have two challenges ahead of us now – to put in the training over the long winter months and to support three charities for children and young people with disabilities,” said Karen Austin.

“As mums, we want to give all the support we can to these brilliant organisations.”

The trio will be raising money for Kids Get Going, Whizz Kids and the National Blind Children’s Association.
