They’ve blown their chances

Oi! Could you please keep the noise down – does this story really warrant front-page news ?

A dangerous legacy planned

Since last week’s report about the proposed development of 51 houses in the centre of Long Melford, Babergh planners have revealed a document from their “independent highways consultant” that was missing from the original report and have launched yet another 14-day consultation period – the fifth in the last seven months.

Voters need to feel valued

I did not vote in the council elections – the first time in my life that I have not voted.

Council should end nuisance

It is good that the council has been able to keep car parking free for the first three hours, as this will definitely keep people coming into the town.

Meeting gave little cheer

Try as I might to bring it to mind, I am still uncertain as to the name of the new NHS facility for community services within Sudbury and the whole of Suffolk.

Slow drivers often speed

I find myself slightly amused and perhaps many others will agree, with Mr Abbott’s letter about people wanting to drive to the speed limit.

Something must be done

I have been concerned for many years about pedestrian safety in Bures.

It’s called compassion

In reference to the letter from Robin Drury (Free Press, April 18), Elliot Pinkham’s In my View column said what I am sure many readers felt .

LETTER: What a shame for event

I had to write to say how frustrated, disappointed and angry myself and two boys were when we turned up for the LDN Wrestling event at the Delphi Centre, only to find out it had been cancelled 30 minutes before the doors were due to open.

LETTER: Thanks for your support

Many thanks to the Sudbury people, schools, cafes, library, B&Bs, retailers and the council for your support in enabling Sudbury to become a Fairtrade Town.

LETTER: Speed limit is not a target

With regard to the driving on the A134 (Free Press, April 18), Mr Scripps is wrong when he criticises people who don’t drive to the speed limit.

LETTER: Group remains very sceptical

As you correctly asserted in last week’s article, Sudbury Watch! has, for the moment at least, suspended legal action against the Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Groups (successors to NHS Suffolk, the Primary Care Trust which closed at the end of March) over the Serco contract.

What about Old Market Place?

Seeing what wonderful planting has been going on outside the town hall, around St Peter’s and in the old Bruntons tubs on King Street, I’m amazed at how awful Old Market Place looks.

A fond farewell to friends

It is with great sadness that I have decided to leave Clare Post Office.

Nothing wrong with facilities

It is with great disappointment that I once again read objections relating to the astro pitch at Hadleigh High leisure centre.
