Youth centre given a facelift

A PRINCE's Trust team from the West Suffolk College has been busy decorating and gardening at the Eden's Project Youth Centre, Sudbury, after raising £192 towards the cost of a community project.

The total was raised through various activities including a car wash in the college car park for a 3 minimum donation and a “man auction” when staff and students were invited to “buy” a man for a day.

The team started work last Monday and expect to finish tomorrow.

Eden's Project manager Stuart Ayling said: "We're very grateful to the Prince's Trust. The students have been doing a fantastic job and have worked really hard. It's been so hot working in the garden and they've done well.

"They also had some interesting ideas for the music room painting two walls white and two black and decorating them with musical notes and song lyrics."

A college spokeswoman said the Prince's Trust team building programme offered exciting challenges which helped build students' confidence and motivation, enabling them to progress either to employment or another college course.
