YOUR VIEWS: What are the key traffic and transport issues in Sudbury?

Possible solutions to problems on Sudbury’s roads have been put forward to Suffolk County Council following a consultation meeting on Thursday.

The county council has allocated a budget of £460,000 to be spent by 2015 on improving traffic flow and highway problems in the town, although the suggestions made are part of plans up to 2031.

Ideas suggested include overhauling the roundabouts near Belle Vue Park to allow traffic from Cornard Road and Great Eastern Road to go up to Newton Road without having to go round the town, and putting in two crossings to the park.

Sudbury Pilot Steering Group has also suggested a roundabout at the junction of Station Road and Great Eastern Road to ease traffic problems due to cars entering Waitrose, with Market Hill requiring only minor adjustements and cosmetic changes according to the group.

Do you agree with these priorities for the town? Are there other, more pressing issues that need addressing? Tell us your thoughts by commenting below, on our Facebook page or @SFPSudbury on Twitter.
