Witnesses are being sought by police after a woman was verbally abused by two men in Sudbury.

The incident took place in Walnut Tree Lane at around 4.30pm on Thursday when a 63-year-old woman walked by two men sitting on a bench, who appeared to be drunk.

The woman spoke to the men, who then swore at her and became verbally abusive, causing the woman to walk away.

The first man is described as white, of slim build and with dark coloured hair. He was aged in his early 30s, around 5’5” tall and was wearing a beige top.

The second man was also white, of a stocky build and had a shaved head. He was in his mid-thirties and was wearing a grey t-shirt.

n Police are also appealing for information after two elderly woman had their purses stolen in North Street, Sudbury, on Friday.

The first theft happened at around 11.45am when a woman in her 70s had her purse taken. The second incident occurred at midday when a woman in her 80s had her purse stolen from her handbag while in a charity shop.

Call police on 101.
