Woman followed by two men warns others to be wary
A 24-year-old woman has revealed she feared she may be mugged or “something more sinister” after being followed in Sudbury.
Stacey Thomas said she was cutting through the car park behind Winch and Blatch when two men began to follow her at around 5.30pm on Sunday.
“As I went to cut through the car park, I could see the men staring at me and I knew something wasn’t right,” said Miss Thomas, from Borehamgate.
“I stopped in my tracks, turned around and started walking really quickly.”
Miss Thomas, who had been visiting a friend, said that despite changing direction, the men continued to track her as she headed to Great Eastern Road and only stopped when she was safe.
“I was going to Humphry Road, but rang my mum and told her what was happening so went straight there,” she said.
“I just want people to be aware because if I wasn’t so quick-thinking I don’t know what could of happened. I could have been mugged or something more sinister.”
A police spokeswoman said it was believed the incident was a “misunderstanding” and two men had been located by officers and given advice.
