A 27-year-old woman from Great Cornard has appeared in court charged with stealing from two supermarkets.

Jennifer Durell, from Lower Reeve, attended Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday.

She pleaded guilty to stealing a handbag, worth £18, from Sainsbury’s in Sudbury, and stealing perfume, valued at £50, from Roy’s in Great Eastern Road. Both thefts took place on November 14 last year.

Durell was given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay £18 in compensation to Sainsbury’s and £50 to Roy’s.
