The work of a Halstead company is underpinning some of the features at several of the most prestigious public spaces people visit - but you won’t see it.

Landline Containment Solutions has supplied membrane linings for water containment at The Eden Project, The Olympic Park and more recently the Commonwealth Games site in Glasgow.

It installed the geomembrane lining to canals, attenuation ponds and lakes in the Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village and waterproofed the traps for the clay pigeon shooting event at the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre.

The company, founded in 1982, provides the expertise and early infrastructure for many prestigious projects requiring water containment.

Managing director Stephen Quill said: “It was fantsatic to be involved in the Commonwealth Games project. We’re a small company so to be involved in something as large as that was excellent.

“The public don’t see what we have done but they see the end result when a water feature or facilty has been planted up and looks like a natural environment.”
