The man, who is thought to be from the Babergh area but has not been named, was struck by a train at a level crossing in Bures Road at around 2.45pm yesterday.

Emergency services, including paramedics attended the incident.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said: “The man, thought to be 20-years-old and from Babergh, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are currently working to establish the identity of the man and inform his next of kin.
