UPDATE: Empty cash point stolen in Sudbury
Thieves have been left empty handed after stealing a cash point during a burglary at premises in Northern Road in Sudbury in the early hours of this morning (February 9).
Officers were alerted around 2.40am to reports of a ram raid at the BP petrol station shop on the Chilton Industrial Estate.
Police arrived and found the ATM had been taken, however, the cashpoint machine was empty at the time and no cash was stolen.
On January 20, a parking ticket machine, which only contained £50, was stolen from a car park in Sudbury. The two incidents have not been linked by police.
Detectives are making enquiries into the incident and are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around this time or anyone with information about those involved to call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting CAD number 16 of today, Tuesday 9, or to call Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
