Trio bailed over drugs

THREE men from Halstead were arrested after their car was stopped by police and drugs found.

The men were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply after officers stopped a black Ford Sierra on the A12 at Brightwell on Wednesday evening.

The police, who were on a routine patrol in the Woodbridge area, stopped the car at around 8.30pm.

On approaching the vehicle, a strong smell of cannabis became apparent and the car and those inside were searched.

Items, including 25 small bags of a green leaf substance, were recovered.

Three men, aged 26, 23 and 19 were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for interview.

They were later released on police bail to return to the centre on September 19.
