A GLEMSFORD man has denied driving when more than twice the legal drink-drive limit.

Richard Smith, 45, of Egremont Street, attended Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with driving his Ford Focus with excess alcohol.

When stopped by police on February 3, he gave a reading of 80 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on bail pending his trial on October 12.
