Time capsule

A VILLAGE is recording memorable events from the year in a time capsule.

Cavendish residents and schoolchildren are filling a box with keepsakes from 2012 and plan to bury the capsule in a mystery spot – ready to be discovered in the future.

The lead-lined box was built by villager Arthur Kemp, and will include details and items marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Olympics.

Residents and visitors are being invited to add to the capsule, which is being kept at the Duck or Grouse community shop on The Green.
