Thieves escaped with more than £11,000 of power tools after a ram-raid at a Hadleigh business.

The break-in took place at W J Green Ltd, a forest and garden machinery firm, in Lady Lane Industrial Estate on Tuesday night.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said a white Suzuki van, which was stolen from Shelley Avenue in Great Cornard between 7pm and 8pm, was used in the theft.

The van was driven into the door of the business at around 8pm and once inside two men loaded more than £11,000 of Stihl power tools into a black vehicle.

The raiders then drove off towards Lady Lane, leaving the white van at the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident to contact them on 101, quoting HD/14/112 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
