The changing face of Sudbury
THE changing face of Sudbury will be discussed as a series of talks on the town comes to an end.
The Streets of Sudbury by the Sudbury History Society delves into the town’s past and how it has evolved.
In its final talk in the series, the society will cover the history of Market Hill, North Street, King Street and The Croft. The Quay Theatre will host two evenings – this Sunday and next Sunday, October 14.
Barry Wall, group chairman, said the talks would showcase the importance of making the right decisions for Sudbury in the future.
“These areas formed an extraordinary and successful piece of 14th century town planning which still survives today,” said Mr Wall.
“Most of these areas have been relatively unchanged for almost 700 years and we need to look at the dangers of losing the things that made Sudbury so special.”
Tickets for the talks, which start at 7.30pm, cost £7, with all the proceeds going to The Quay Theatre in Quay Lane.
