Thanks go to donors who help save lives
Blood donors from Sudbury and Hadleigh have received a thank you from the health service for saving lives.
Five donors have given blood at least 75 times – and one donor, Moira Hunter, from Head Lane in Great Cornard, has given blood 100 times.
They were among 70 donors to receive crystal awards for their loyalty and commitment to donating blood at a recent NHS ceremony held at Ipswich Town Football Club.
Those who have donated 75 times are Peter Jay, from Hadleigh, Trevor Burrows, from Sudbury, Laurence Fletcher, from Nelson Road, Sudbury, Richard Nice, from Otten Road, Belchamp Otten, and David Williams, from Sudbury.
Mr Fletcher, 54, who started donating when the collection team visited his workplace, said: “I have continued giving so many times – I have had major surgery three times and have not needed blood. It is a very good thing to do and it makes you feel good afterwards.“
