TERRIFIED LOVE RIVAL CLUNG TO WIPERS IN GREAT CORNARD DANGEROUS DRIVING INCIDENT

A MAN who drove off with a terrifed love rival clinging to the bonnet of his car has been jailed for two years.

At one point the victim had to hang on to the windscreen wipers to stop himself falling from the bonnet as the vehicle continued to career along a footpath before colliding with a fence.

The driver then sped off to the car park of the Great Cornard Stevenson Centre, where he tried to set light to the vehicle to destroy the evidence before walking away across a playing field.

Ipswich Crown Court heard on Friday (November 13) that Luke Adams, 21, had pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance.

Adams, of Head Lane, Great Cornard, also pleaded guilty to burglary which he committed while on bail for the motoring offences.
