Gary Perrens has launched an accountancy business in Sudbury called TaxAssist.

Gary, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector, has started up his business at the Suffolk Business Centre in Alexandra Road.

He said he will be looking for additional members of staff to join the business later this year.

After seeing growing numbers of new businesses starting up in the area, Gary said he realised there was a need for a service specifically tailored to small firms, to guide new start-ups and provide ongoing support to existing businesses.

He said: “I think market conditions are challenging and, although times are still tough, there is a feeling of optimism as we are seeing a huge growth in new business start-ups, which is very encouraging for the area.

“We knew that there was a definite niche to be filled across Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds and have had a very positive response from the local business community so far.

“I’m looking forward to expanding my own business into a shop and helping other local businesses expand and grow.”

His office will specialise in providing accountancy services, tax returns, payroll, book-keeping, tax savings and tax advice to small businesses.
