Talks start over museum

DISCUSSIONS to create an archive filled with items from Sudbury’s past are moving in the right direction.

Plans to set up a Sudbury museum were debated during a meeting of the council’s leisure and environment committee on Tuesday.

Sudbury mayor Tony Platt said he was hopeful of progressing the idea and had received positive feedback.

“There is so much history in the town that deserves to be registered,” he said.

“I am sure many residents have items in their homes or garages that are fit for a place in a museum and it would be good to catalogue them.

“We are still exploring how this can be done but we have started the ball rolling.”
