Bosses from a Sudbury firm criticised for the foul smell coming from the factory have met residents and councillors.

During the meeting, Kevin Shrimpton, manager of Nestlé Purina Pet Care on Chilton Industrial Estate, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to reducing odours.

The factory has already invested more than £250,000 to improve the problem since the summer and the Environment Agency is monitoring the situation.

Sudbury mayor Adrian Osborne said he was pleased with the steps taken.

“It is really encouraging to hear all the hard work and dedication that is being put into ensuring a good quality of life for residents and businesses in Sudbury,” he said.
