Super Sudbury has got readers composing verse this week
Reader Maureen Murphy of Great Waldingfield, writes:
Over the years the population has grown,
But I am still proud to call Sudbury home.
People happily visit from villages around
To the wide variety of shops in the town.
Baskets and tubs of flowers on show
Make time spent here a nice place to know.
Helpful, friendly people you're likely to meet,
Plenty free parking spaces and places to eat.
The Kingfisher provides everything to keep fit,
There's a park full of amusement, place to sit,
St Peter's Church in the middle of town,
Display arts and crafts, stalls to look round.
A bargain or two can sometimes be got
From the twice-weekly cheeky market lot.
The Town Hall holds certain events for the old,
Our own football club for the tough and the bold.
Loads of things for the youngsters to do,
Air Training Corps, Army Cadets, cheerleaders too,
Parades and Sudbury fun runs each year
Raise money for charities reasons to cheer.
For the night revellers there are a few clubs
A warm welcome given in our local pubs.
Now I am retired and bus fares are free
Travelling in and around town is a pleasure to me."

A pretty little market town
Set in a valley with meadows green
The river flowing all around
Where swans and ducks can be found
Walking through the meadows green
Proud to be part of my home town
