Sudbury played host to more than thirty visitor’s from its twin town in Denmark, Fredensborg over the weekend.
The Danes stayed with English families, enjoying the chance to see Sudbury and the surrounding area, including trips to Lavenham and Long Melford.
As the visit was based on English traditions the guests were treated to a day at the seaside in Felixstowe, with a fish and chip supper on the beach, as well as a barn dance in Lavenham and a traditional English afternoon tea.
“It was all greatly appreciated, and many friendships were renewed,” said Mary Dunk, press officer for Sudbury Town Twinning Association.
Sudbury has been twinned with Fredensborg, near Copenhagen, since 2007.
