Sudbury fruit and veg store to close

A family run greengrocers and fruitsellers in Sudbury is to cease trading after 60 years.

The store has been run by three generations of the Watson family, since first opening in 1946.

John Watson, who runs the shop with brother Andy and aunty Margaret Head, said the decision to shut was not an easy one.

“It is getting harder and harder to make a living,” he said.

A sign in the shop window cited “increasingly difficult” trading conditions as the reason for the closure.
