Sudbury Festival finale date: March 25

THE finale to the Sudbury Festival takes place on Sunday, March 25.

The show will showcase all the best bits of the three sections of the festival - dance, music and drama - and takes place at Sudbury Upper School at 3pm.

Tickets will be on sale at the door.

Contestants in the music section of the Sudbury Festival hit all the right notes during six entertaining days of competition.

Among the local children taking part were sisters Emma and Sophie Heaton, 12 and 9 respectively, from Great Cornard, who dazzled audiences with their flute and clarinet skills.

Their mother, Sue, who also performed in a flute ensemble, was full of praise for the Festival.

She said: "It is the perfect platform for young people to experience the thrill of performing. Every contribution is valued, no matter how small, and very positive feedback is offered to every participant.

"It is very humbling and a rare privilege to listen to such a myriad of local talent. I am very grateful to the organisers for all the time and energy they have put into this precious gem of an event."

The Speech and Drama section runs from March 9 to 12, at Delphi Sports and Social Club, and all sessions are open for everyone to enjoy.

The grand Festival Concert will be on Sunday March 25, when some of the best performers from all three sections of the Festival - music, speech and dance - will be on stage.

Full Festival programmes are available from the Tourist Information Centre and Compact Music. Details are also given on the Festival website www.sudburyfestival.org.uk.
