Staff crisis hits Sudbury town post office

PEOPLE trying to collect pensions or benefits were left irate after a post office was closed without explanation.

On Monday, March 1, customers were forced out of Sudbury Post Office in the early afternoon and told it would be indefinitely closing at lunchtime every day.

For many people, the Sudbury branch is the only post office where they can collect pensions and benefits.

And customers were left further in the dark on Tuesday morning (March 2) when a note from the branch manager on the door read: "Due to staff shortage, this office will not be open until further notice".

A delivery driver arrived at the branch at around 10.45am, but he was equally unaware of the closure.
