A supermarket due to open in Glemsford is looking to install a cash machine outside the building.
Work has begun on two retail units – one of which will be a Spar store – on the former site of Glemsford Motor Services in Bells Lane.
The shop has applied to Babergh District Council for permission to create an ATM and the proposals, which will be heard on Wednesday, have been recommended for approval.
Environmental officers have raised no objections, although they are keen to avoid any light pollution.
Glemsford Parish Council has, however, objected to the application.
If approved, the cash machine would only be operational during shop opening hours, from 7am to 9.30pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 8am to 9pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The units were given consent in 2012.
