Police investigating a ram raid at the post office in Glemsford have made a fresh appeal for information.

The ram raid at Broadway Stores in Fair Green took place at around 4.30am on November 3 and saw a stolen Toyota Hilux repeatedly reverse into the shop. A cash machine was then dragged from the store, using a piece of rope and the pick-up truck.

Despite damaging the front of the post office, the raiders, who left the scene in a second vehicle, failed to escape with any cash.

On November 7 three men were arrested in connection with the incident.

Two days later Alan Loveridge, 47, of Moorsfield, Great Cornard, Michael Smith, 29, of Mill Lane, Ellingham, and Steven Allum, 27, of Henry Street in Debenham were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the burglary. Calls should be made to Dc Jackie Mumford on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
