Precinct noise complaints prompt equipment changes
Workmen in Sudbury’s Borehamgate Precinct have been forced to change their machinery following complaints from businesses about the noise.
The £168,000 refurbishment of the precinct, which involves the removal and replacement of the floor tiles over the next four months, has seen the precinct’s Great Eastern Road entrance closed and heavy drilling close to the King Street archway.
These were closed down on Tuesday after being deemed too noisy by businesses.
Alternative machinery was due to arrive in time for work to restart on Wednesday.
