Dramatic scenes involving a police helicopter in Sudbury led to a man from Great Cornard being detained by the police on Tuesday.
Three police cars, including a police dog unit, were called to The Croft, off Croft Road, after reports of a domestic incident involving two people.
The incident took place at around 10.15am, and police said a man had made threats and was refusing to leave a property.
The Suffolk Police helicopter was also scrambled and hovered above the town centre and Sudbury water meadows for around 20 minutes while police were at the address, with police cars blocking off part of Gregory Street for a short while.
A police spokesman said: “The incident involved an ex-partner and an ex-girlfriend. “A 22-year-old man from Great Cornard has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and causing criminal damage.”
