Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision which left an elderly woman was injured in Sudbury.

The incident happened between 11.30am and 12pm on Wednesday on Market Hill.

A 73-year-old woman was crossing the road, near to the Santander bank, when a car parked in the road began reversing. The car collided with the victim, causing her to fall to the floor. The woman sustained pain to her hips, legs and shoulder as a result of the incident.

The driver of the vehicle stopped but did not give the victim her details, which are now being sought. The vehicle is described as a small blue car and the driver is described as an elderly woman.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
