Playweek proves a hit

FUN games and activities took place in Glemsford all last week as part of the village’s first Playweek.

A total of 50 children enjoyed designing shirts, knitting, basketball, rounders, lunch and tea parties throughout the week before finishing on Friday with a fancy dress party and presentation of a certificate to the all the children who had been part of the event.

The events took place at the village hall and playing field and were supported by village volunteers, the parish council and Suffolk County Council.

Amy Hemingway, whose children Angel, seven, and Jaden, four, took part, said: “We came for the last two days and there was a great atmosphere. We would like to be involved next year.”
