Permanent home for Newton travellers

A family of travellers will have a permanent home in Newton, despite objections from a nearby residents’ group.

An application to change the use of an area of paddock at Lilleyfield in Sackers Green for a permanent residential pitch for a mobile home for the Street family was approved by Babergh District Council’s development committee yesterday.

The family has been living close to the site for seven years.
