Paul wins seat on parish council

A new member has been elected to join Long Melford Parish Council.

Paul Morton will take up his seat on the council after receiving 664 votes in last week’s by-election. The other candidate, Flavia Popescu-Richardson, received 376 votes.

From an electorate of 2,964 people, there was a turnout of 36.55 per cent for the election.
