EXPANDING VENTURE: GBC in Lavenham has been opened by Matthew McIntyre and Matthew Oxborrow.

Two childhood friends have expanded their online tailoring business by opening a new shop and studio in Lavenham .

Matthew McIntyre and Matthew Oxborrow, both 26, launched GBC (Gentlemen By Conduct) Custom Clothiers, in Water Street, specialising in custom, made-to-measure sports jackets, suits and shirts.

The pair honed the measurement and fitting process from a Savile Row-trained, former-Prada tailor based in London.

They have already arranged a suit for X Factor judge and leading music entertainment manager Louis Walsh, pictured.

Mr McIntyre said they prided themselves on offering a “great service”.

Business partner Mr Oxborrow added: “Specialising in custom clothing as opposed to being just another menswear shop allows us to offer a truly exceptional service and experience to every single customer as they are our sole focus.”

Upstairs is a gentleman’s lounge and custom clothing studio while, on the ground floor, they sell items such as cashmere scarves, socks and ties, as well as Lavenham quilted jackets.

Their clothes are produced in Europe and are sent within four weeks of manufacturing to the customer.
