SUFFOLK police is appointing disability liaison officers as part of its commitment to equality and diversity.
The two in Sudbury will be station clerk Gwen Taylor and Pcso Linda Turkentine.
The main role of the officers will be to help increase and improve trust and confidence of disabled people, their families and carers.
They will be based at locations around the county and will develop links with local neighbourhood disability groups and organisations, while providing advice, guidance and information to different agencies.
Assistant Chief Constable Paul Marshall said: “The appointment of disability liaison officers is an important move and sends a positive message to disabled people, their families and carers, that Suffolk Police is here for all victims of crime.”
