New date for summer fair

SUDBURY Catholic Church’s summer fair, which was cancelled after weeks of bad weather, will go ahead on Saturday.

The event, held annually in the garden of the Our Lady and St John Church in The Croft, was due to be held on July 7.

Organiser Janet Beswick said: “Unfortunately, we cancelled it due to the terrible weather forecast but, as it happened, it was quite a nice day.

“The summer fair will now take place on Saturday, July 28.”

There will be a variety of traditional stalls, including a tombola, raffle, gifts and children’s stalls and, for refreshments, a barbecue, bar, cream teas and cakes.

The only change to the event details is the time. Instead of taking place from 11am, the fair will run from 6pm until 8.30pm.
