Twenty-eight years ago, Paul Goodchild decided to start up a club in his back garden for vintage enthusiasts.
He never dreamt it would catch people’s imagination the way it has and, nearly three decades on, the Monks Eleigh Bygone Collectors Club is once again preparing for its annual rally.
“We stared with just a dozen or so members and now have more than 140,” said Mr Goodchild.
This Saturday and Sunday, from 10.30am to 5pm, the club will be holding its biggest event of the year, for the 15th time, at Great Waldingfield Airfield.
Steam engines, tractors, stalls and motorbikes will all be featured with money raised going towards Age Concern and Diabetes UK.
“We have lots of new attractions, including chainsaw carving and magicians to attract the younger generation,” said Mr Goodchild.
