A community brought together through grief following the shock death of one of its youngest inhabitants have remembered a three-year-old girl who was described as “small in size but giant in character” by her parents.

Rosa Simon, from Hadleigh, died last week after she was involved in a collision with a van.

Police and ambulance crews tried to resuscitate Rosa and she was taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance but died a short while later.

On Tuesday evening, to mark a week since her death, residents of Canterbury Gardens, where Rosa lived, joined together to light candles and release balloons.

A police spokesperson said: “An investigation is being carried out on behalf of the coroner. No arrests have been made.”

The driver of the van told the Free Press said he had been in contact with Rosa’s parents.

“My heart goes out to them,” he said. “I’m devastated – little Rosa will be in my heart for ever.”
