Man in court over Kersey and Hadleigh burglaries

A 23-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly carried out a spate of burglaries – stealing two cars in the process – has appeared in court.

Stuart McConnachie is accused of breaking into a house in The Street, Kersey, and stealing a Subaru Impreza, two petrol cans, 10 bottles of alcohol and a pint of milk on February 15.

McConnachie, who appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, is also charged with stealing a Ford Fiesta, valued at £2,000, from a garage in Hadleigh, and breaking into a garden shed and taking a nail gun, power drill and bolt croppers, worth £490.

All the alleged offences took place in the space of four days.

McConnachie, of Upper Street, Witnesham, gave no indication of plea and was released on unconditional bail until his next court appearance on November 20.
