A 24-year-old Hadleigh man has been charged with drug production after a cannabis factory was discovered.

Police were called to a house in Oxford Road, Ipswich, at around 4.25am on Monday to reports of a possible burglary in progress. Officers attended and two people were seen to run towards Groves Lane.

Ardian Daci of Oxford Drive, Hadleigh, was arrested in the area and was taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre. He was subsequently charged with being concerned in production of a controlled Class B drug and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

The house has now been cleared of around 60 cannabis plants and been boarded up.

Police are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact them on 101.
