Lorry driver charged over Earls Colne crash that put girl in hospital

A 43-year-old lorry driver will appear in court next month after a crash in Earls Colne that left a 15-month-old girl with serious injuries.

The man, from Southend, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 6 charged with dangerous driving.

The collision happened on September 6 on the B1024 Coggeshall Road and involved a Vauxhall Zafira and Daf lorry. A then 15-month-old girl received serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital while the male car driver and a six-year-old girl received minor injuries.
