Kind residents of Hadleigh have been helping out a homeless man who has been sleeping in a tent at the park in Corks Lane.

Stuart Walton, who was made homeless after being unable to run his business due to pain caused by injury, was pitching up in Bildeston but was asked to move on a few weeks ago.

Since then, he has camped in Hadleigh and, despite some early animosity, he says he has been helped a great deal by residents.

“People have been really kind,” said Mr Walton.

The 52-year-old trained accountant says he has being trying to arrange a flat in Leiston but said securing shelters had been impossible because he owns a dog.

For the last few days, Mr Walton has been sleeping in his car after the storms on Saturday night ruined his camping gear.
