Great Cornard Upper School remembers Shelley and Yibi
Emotional memorial services were held at Great Cornard Upper School for a former teacher who died of cancer and a popular teenager who died of HIV/Aids.
Vicar of St Andrew's Church, Great Cornard, Jamie Allen conducted a service to remember English teacher Shelley Baisden, who died aged 23 almost a year ago.
There followed a service for South African-born student Yibi Matthews, 16, who had contracted HIV at birth.
He spent three years at the school.
The tutor group of Ms Baisden had breakfast together before attending the service in a memorial garden created by sixth-formers in her honour.
Tracey Welsh, a learning mentor at the school, said: "Shelley was a very popular teacher and it was fitting to do this a year after her death."
A plaque was unveiled bought by Yibi's adoptive parents, the Rev David Matthews and his wife Joan, of Boxford, who attended the service.
Sixth-formers also presented a cheque for 500 to St Nicholas' Hospice, Bury St Edmunds, raised through charity events.
