CASH-STRAPPED householders in Sudbury have been selling gold and jewellery to raise money.

Sudbury jeweller Jonathan Lambert said his shop has seen a massive rise in people selling jewellery.

Simon Pott, East of England art and antiques spokesman for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, said jewellery, silver and coins were showing significant gains in value. “Now might be a good time for people to consider selling any sovereigns and other gold,” he said.
