Glemsford councillor resigns

A GLEMSFORD parish councillor has resigned, potentially triggering a by-election.

Fiona Dinning-Cole, who had served on the parish council for just over a year, said she was unable to continue due to other commitments including running a community magazine.

“My work has started to get busier, as has my charity work, so something had to give,” she said, adding that her involvement in the Glemsford Angels fundraising group would continue.

Parish clerk Debbie George said that an election for the vacancy would be required if ten people from the Glemsford parish wrote to Babergh District Council to give notice that they wanted an election. If this does not happen, the parish council will fill the place by co-option. Contact Mrs George on 01787 282345 or by email on clerk@glemsfordpc.co.uk for further information.
